Bloomingdale School of Music (BSM)
Established in 1964, Bloomingdale School of Music (BSM) is a non-profit community music school located in Manhattan's Upper West Side. The school's mission is to provide open and continuous access to high-quality music education, regardless of economic status, ability level, ethnicity, or religious affiliation. Since its founding, BSM has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to providing access to music education for individuals from underserved communities, opening doors to the musically curious who may otherwise be prohibited from taking up an instrument, and offering a path to prepare talented students for more advanced musical study.
