Common Denominator
Common Denominator (previously known as Top Honors, Inc), provides a safe, fun, and welcome environment for every math student to master the fundamentals of math. Using an in-house curriculum, students tackle basic number principles to pre-algebra concepts via group games and 1-on-1 settings. Each student progresses through curriculum at their own pace with a volunteer math tutor who also serves as a mentor.

- The CCS grant will help accelerate students learning loss recovery, seek to connect real-world math skills to financial literacy, help students learn about investing, and offer help to middle schoolers' parents who are interested in learning about how to manage their personal finances.

- The CCS grant will support the Culturally Responsive Math Tutoring Cohort, committed to multiplying impact and ensuring that this generation of students not only identifies with math but is eager to explore math careers.

- The CCS grant to Top Honors Inc., allowed them to provide student awards to incentivize student attendance, provide social events for volunteers to engage with children, and to acquire math supplies and curriculum materials as necessary. The CCS grant supports the organization's goal of providing free math tutoring to middle school students and to improve the academic and career success of underserved students. 80% of Top Honors Inc. students identify as members of an underrepresented minority group, with 3 out of 4 students eligible for the national subsidized lunch program.
