900+ Toys and 150+ Coats Donated to Local Orgs As Part of Columbia Community Service Winter Drives

During a busy holiday season, Columbians came together to support two beloved traditions sponsored by Columbia Community Service (CCS): the annual toy drive and winter coat drive. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone who donated toys as part of the 25th Annual CCS Toy Drive and much-needed winter gear as part of the CCS Coat Drive. 

Thanks to your collective generosity, CCS was able to deliver 988 toys to CCS grantees organizing toy distribution: Advancing the Community of Tomorrow, Association to Benefit the Children, Cathedral Community Cares, Church of the Ascension, Graham Windham, NYC Kidsfest, Harlem Congregation for Community Improvement, and Uptown Inner City League.

Your donations represented a 112% increase in toys from 2022, which is truly incredible. Special thanks to our partners in the Office of the President, who helped organize this year's drive; the Association for Learning and Mentoring Services, Inc., for their generous donation of toys; and volunteers who helped prepare the toys for distribution.

This holiday season, you also contributed a total of 162 coats and other winter gear to be put to use in the community by Cathedral Community Cares. A special thanks to our friends in Facilities and Operations, who helped us collect donation and whose Clean + Go Green event accounted for the most donations of all. 

Your giving will make a difference this season to our neighbors and need. We ask that you continue in that spirit of support as we warp up the 77th CCS Annual Appeal. Your donations (no matter the amount!) are integral and continue to help us support local nonprofits providing everything from food relief, to clothing, to educational opportunities to youth.
